Connect Data

Connecting accounting data is the first step in every Arboris review. The connection supplies the source evidence for Command Center urgency, Analysis KPIs, AI Chat, anomaly detection, and Full Financial Review exports.

Alpha provider boundary

Xero and CSV are visible product boundaries, not active connection paths. Do not plan a client review around them until Arboris marks them active in the product and docs.

Before connecting

Confirm:

1. You are in the correct client workspace.
2. You have access to the client’s QuickBooks Online company.
3. The QuickBooks company is the one you want tied to this Arboris client.
4. You understand that each client can have one active accounting integration.

The QuickBooks company selected during authorization becomes the accounting source for that Arboris client.

Connection workflow

1. Open the client workspace.
2. Go to Integrations.
3. Select QuickBooks.
4. Authorize Arboris in the Intuit flow.
5. Return to Arboris.
6. Monitor the first sync.
7. Move to Analysis when the sync succeeds.

If the client has never synced, Arboris cannot compute KPIs, explain material changes, or export a source-grounded financial review.

Data quality expectations

Arboris uses complete accounting periods for KPI conclusions. If a required QuickBooks report or comparison period is unavailable, Arboris suppresses affected values and explains why. This is expected behavior. A suppressed value is safer than a number that does not match the accounting source.

Security and client trust

The connection flow uses QuickBooks authorization. Arboris stores OAuth tokens encrypted at rest and scopes analysis to the current client’s data. AI responses are grounded in synced source evidence and include confidence tags so you can decide what is client-ready.

Next steps

After connecting:

1. Let the sync complete.
2. Open Analysis and review KPI coverage.
3. Use AI Chat for targeted explanations only after data exists.
4. Export a report from Reports after you have reviewed confidence, citations, suppressions, and data gaps.
